Inspired by a post from one of my favourite bloggers Caroline – find her brilliant blog here http://mrsmsmeanderings.wordpress.com/2013/08/, I am sharing the bargains I picked up at my local bootsale on Sunday, unlike Caroline who on a Sunday is up at the crack of dawn we got there at around 8am and it was really busy,I was looking for items for my Vintage business and items for my Christmas gift baskets and picked up this little lot.

Wall art for £2(to sell)
Pretty silver plated dessert spoons in a pretty box,I will give them a good clean and they can be sold, they only cost me £2
What I made last week
I had an order for a vintage style wedding card and a pair of mini cups and saucers with bride and groom tags, this is what I made.
The card looks a lot better in real life and has a picture of the bride and groom in a little frame, the cups and saucers were a charity shop find.
I have a few card orders I have to get on with now but my dog Alfie has other ideas he wants to play. X Dawn
Today I have designed my new logo, I had to keep it simple as it will be used as a poster and business cards.
I have also made 2 shadow boxes for a friend’s Daughter’s bedroom.I think they look quite sweet, the pics are a bit poor and they look much better in real life
My new logo
I am sure she will like them .
I have been busy card making this week, I have not done it for a while as I have Emily keeping me busy, I ordered a new vintage style stamp, it looks like a picture from an old sewing pattern and I love it, here is what I did ( well a few)
and another in a different colour way
Then a few os my Sugar Nellie girls in different colour ways
They look so different even though it is the same stamp, I think they are cute.
I have just cooked a delicious Beef Bourguinon using a Gordon Ramsay recipe and even though I say so myself it was so tasty and John said it was perfect! (pats myself on the back).
thanks for looking x Dawn
I made a Graduation card today, it was an easel style card ,my current favourite style, I am pleased with the way it turned out. On the card I put some shabby torn paper flowers and I think they look so cute.
I liked the look of the shabby flowers so I made a few more using my vintage papers, they look a lot nicer in real life.
I made a nappy cake for my Grandson Mason’s baby shower , Mason is due early September, no one at the shower had ever seen one before as they are quite a new thing in the UK, I Googled them copied a simple one I saw , it is just rolled up nappies, ribbon,a couple of dummies and a small teddy, I loved it and so did everyone at the shower.
I also converted a wedding guest book to a baby shower book, the book was in a cut price shop for 99p and it had a bouquet on the front, I think it turned out ok.
That picture is terrible it looks very distorted but you get the idea.
I also made cup cakes that went down well.
I was asked to make a 2nd Birthday card for my step Grandaughter Keah’s birthday from her Mum and step Dad ( my Son) she loves In The Night Garden, I think she will like it.
and here is one I made from us
here is the Birthday girl Keah she is so tiny she is 2 today but is only in 12-18 months clothes! she is so clever and already out of nappies!
I am off yo get her presents sorted for her party this afternoon.
My Nephew is a walker and climber and it is his Birthday at the end of the month so I thought I would use his hobby as a theme , I made an easel card which simply means a card that stands up as though it is on an easel. The card is very easy to make and can be decorated in many different ways and suites all occasions , I have also made John one but sealed it and put it away as I do not want him to see it, his Birthday is not until July so I will have to remember to take a piccie. John was throwing an old road map away and I said I would have it as I could use it for crafting, there are many things I can do with it, cards, scrapbook, gift wrapping and even making envelopes and gift bags.
Here is the card the pictures are taken showing the different sides of the cards and then how it will look when it is on display.
The pictures are of my Nephew and the silhouette is him on Snowdon’s summit.
Hope you like the card, it was made from an old map I used the page that shows Snowdonia national park and some pictures mounted onto card, it was very easy but I think it is effective.
